DIVORCE, CUSTODY, NAME CHANGES, LEGITIMATION
Uncontested divorce, no children: $500 plus court costs
Uncontested divorce, with children: $800 plus court costs
Contested divorce: $3,000.00 initial, non-refundable retainer. If I can't settle your divorce or custody case within six (6) months of the date you hire me, beginning the seventh (7th) month, I will continue to work on your case for a reasonable monthly payment you can afford. This limits your potential financial exposure and gives me, as your attorney, an incentive to complete your case as quickly as possible. You may be responsible for any court costs, court reporter fees, and expenses of litigation, depending upon your case.
Name Change: $500 attorney fees plus court costs which will include a court filing fee and advertisement in the local legal newspaper, which is required.
Uncontested legitimation: $500 plus court costs and costs of any paternity testing
Uncontested child support calculation/paternity: $500 plus court costs and expenses of litigation
GUARDIAN AD LITEM
If you are involved in a contested divorce involving children, trusting that a judge will spend any significant time understanding your case, your children, and their needs is simply a gamble. Your children deserve better. I provide guardian ad litem services to cases involving contested custody disputes for a flat fee of $3,500.00 for the entire case. This will include my investigation, attending depositions (if the issue of custody will be addressed), and providing a written report to the judge. If the case proceeds to trial or hearings, I will charge a flat fee of $1,000.00 per day of trial. Typically the costs of the guardian ad litem are divided equally between the parties. Again, since this is a flat fee, you won't have to stress about yet another legal fee which will only increase as your case lingers.
ADOPTION
Uncontested Step-Parent Adoption: $1,000.00 plus court costs and expenses of litigation.
Uncontested Relative Adoption: $1,500.00 plus court costs and expenses of litigation.
Formalizing/registering a foreign adoption: $1,500.00 plus court costs and expenses of litigation.
